Sometimes, a model comes into our lives like a whirling dervish, full of enthusiasm and raring to shoot something new and exciting. Cue a well known international Nylon model Goddess Gin.
Pass her in the street and a glance, and double take, might have you reeling thinking you almost bumped into well known celebrity Pamela Anderson!
So we had been lent an awesome pair of leather formed dragon’s wings that the maker wanted shooting stylistically in a number of ways. Goddess Gin jumped at the opportunity to cavort around the hi key set up showing off her prowess as a female predator and dragon lady.
As a product, the wings were to retail for a couple of thousand pounds, and we felt highly privileged to shoot such a unique item. One can see the way the light catches them and shows off the amazing iridescent colour way that was crafted across the formed material.
All in all, it was an amazing day, and we were very fired up to shoot Goddess Gin in some of our finest nylon.
Then like a puff of smoke she was gone…
An amazing lady, and amazing costume that would be a showstopper at any cosplay event. We had the wings long enough to shoot two young ladies in an Angel au Demon style that was heavily laced with a unique take on ripped pantyhose. Watch this space for more on this later.
If you have something unique and creative you would like to shoot then do drop us a line through the website. we revel in making your products positively Rock!
We are not quite sure how to label this post, but whatever the title the shoot made for an intriguing style…The tiddly hat worn atop the models head is often referred to as a ‘Fascinator’…
The model had the basic Bodice and lace dress to which we added the finishing touches. Of course ladies would not have worn nylon in those days, but the model had some delightful ink to display on her legs that we wanted to show through, so transparent shiny pantyhose were the order of the day.
Also we showcased one of our favourite props here. An original Jean Paul Gaultier Rubber Umbrella with ornate handle, which is currently on sale on eBay.

We also employed a combination of studio lamps punching light into the scene and natural light as seen in the shot above, whilst partaking of afternoon tea.
We had many bluebells growing in our garden and so found it appropriate to make up a little seasonal bouquet to complement her intricate make up.
We would like to point out that it is illegal in the UK to pick bluebells in the wild…so do take heed as there is a hefty fine if you are caught doing this.
Next accoutrement was a fine ebony and alpaca silver Gentleman’s walking cane. It is worth noting that whilst an expensive item, alpaca silver forming the handle at the top of the cane does not in fact contain any real silver. It is an alloy of copper, zinc and nickel that mimics silver.
Finally, our old shed, that we kept our lawn mower and other garden equipment in, fell down as the roundels of wood supporting its corners had rotted through. The Tin Roof provided to final piece of the puzzle for a different urban backdrop…
Something we found floating on the internet caught our eye, and it involves lots of shiny latex, our second favourite material.
We have no idea who it is or where it comes from as there is no watermark, so any clues would be very helpful to credit the originator. We like to promote others wherever we can…
Well let’s face it, that got you looking didn’t it?
Today’s post is a celebration of our local dockside heritage.
And also a hint that we can use many places as a fine backdrop to add interest and variety into the mix of how we compose our shots.
Bringing the pictures to life with a little HDR twist also brings out all the lines and textures and expresses just how much detail a digital camera is actually picking up.
The Sun is on its way, so we start to come alive and get out and be more creative.
We Love shooting outdoors and have a wealth of great places in our locality. We always have an assistant or two with us to ward of any unwanted attention, so you can assure you will be safe, but at the same time will need a little exhibitionist streak in you…so no wallflowers need apply!
So we were stranded in Toulouse, France and were put up in a four star hotel due to an Air Traffic Controllers strike. We were there for nearly a week. Luckily we had lots of Nylon in our suitcase and so did some awesome shoots in the hotel.
We also did a few tours of the City and took in the many Art Galleries, exhibitions and Street Art. On our journey we came across an amazing retro second hand store that was just a cornucopia of unique retro artefacts. We had a good nose around and then left, but as we turned the corner outside I saw the most amazing pair of boots in the Window. Something that Betty Page would have been proud of. That was it, I ushered my Wife inside to put her dainty size 4’s into the ultra snug real leather delights. They were a perfect fit and we had to have them.
Since then they have been used in only one other shoot, which we called ‘Nylon Mistress’ for obvious reasons. Plus we meet very few models with such small feet. Luckily, the very lovely Miss Jenson was also a perfect fit and took on the role with veritable aplomb!
